Sizzling Spotlight: Lindsey Masterson

Welcome to the Sizzling Spotlight, where we feature Tallahassee and surrounding area creatives whose work sizzles. We showcase designers and creatives of all forms: they need only possess the spark of creativity – to be “fire” (as the kids say).

This month we’re thrilled to feature the sizzling work of Lindsey Masterson. 🔥

Lindsey, also known as Pen and Tool, is a designer, illustrator and Tallahassee native. She is the Associate Art Director at Rowland Publishing, Inc.

Lindsey has worked with countless clients on projects ranging from brand identities and logo design, web graphics, stationery suites, hand-painted signage, commissioned illustrations, murals and more.

She designed the illustrative branding for Design Week Tallahassee 2020 and participated in our Gallie Alley mural project.

In her spare time, Lindsey enjoys petting stranger’s dogs, camping and cooking up new recipes. Music, animals, food and nature are a great source of inspiration and happiness. 🔥

As is our tradition, we asked a member of the community familiar with the artist’s work to talk about it.

“Lindsey is definitely a multi-talented individual. Illustration skills? CHECK!!! Art direction? CHECK!!! Publication design? CHECK!!! Growing her own habaneros and turning them into one of the tastiest peach habanero hot sauces??? CHECK!!!

It doesn’t really matter what we throw at Lindsey these days when it comes to the various work we do at Rowland Publishing, she completely knocks it out of the park. And for anything she’s not as knowledgeable about, or isn’t in her comfort zone, she asks great questions and proceeds to find a way to handle that, too.

Lindsey is a growth-minded creative always looking for ways to improve. It’s inspiring to watch such an evolution take place in someone. Glad she’s on our team.”

–Daniel Vitter,
Vice President / Production and Technology at Rowland Publishing
