Sizzling Spotlight: Nipa Eason

Welcome back to the Sizzling Spotlight, where we feature Tallahassee and surrounding area creatives whose work sizzles. We showcase designers and creatives of all forms: they need only possess the spark of creativity – to be “fire” (as the kids say).🔥

This month we’re thrilled to feature the sizzling work of Nipa Eason.

Nipa is a designer, filmmaker, painter, podcaster, and occasional Bollywood style dancer. She is currently the Creative Director at SalterMitchell PR, but has worked at various places, both here and in Los Angeles.

She was drawn to art at an early age, but hesitated to pursue it as a career. She lost that hesitation in college when she honed in on a film degree from the University of Arizona, and never looked back. After college she moved to Los Angeles where she worked as a motion graphics artist for post-production houses and Sony Pictures.

In Tallahassee, she has been able to apply her design skills in a variety of ways. From motion graphics to print layout, and video editing to mural painting she gets to play in many different formats. She is a firm believer in the idea that good design is applicable across mediums, and making the effort to expand your skills is always time well spent. Her podcast, Project Popsicle, dives into what it means to be creative and an artist – especially as a person of color.

This is usually the place to make a list of hobbies, so in order of no importance, Nipa enjoys: running, sleeping, Laughing with her sister, reading, dance parties with her daughter, being overly competitive, and occasionally (when the whim hits her) baking delicious cookies.🔥

As is our tradition, we asked a member of the community familiar with the artist’s work to talk about it.

“I had the pleasure of getting to know Nipa when we were at the same local agency several years ago. She is a talented creator, skilled in both graphic design and videography, and she’s honestly a joy to work with. Nipa’s ability to listen to clients, discern what’s needed and desired, and provide beautiful solutions is one of my favorite things about her (but her chocolate chip cookies are also a favorite).

In addition to her creative talents, Nipa is a fantastic collaborator. She brings a sense of calm to chaotic projects, provides constructive feedback, and genuinely cares about others. We are fortunate to have her working and serving in our community.”
