Recap: Skate & Skin Art Show

It’s been a while since we had a good ol’ fashion recap post. Time to give these bad boys a comeback – and the 2019 Skate & Skin Art Show was so awesome we couldn’t NOT recap it.

Phaze One Skate Shop opened it’s doors to the public at 1PM for show-goers and passerby. Folks from the creative community showed out big time right from the start to support their fellow makers!

As the day went on, word spread quickly to the rest of the community too. Before we knew it, new faces from all over Tallahassee were browsing these out-of-this-world skateboards.

Voting proved a difficult task to everyone who stepped through Phaze One’s doors. Each board submitted to the show met every standard of excellence. Not only that, but there were so many styles, colors and mediums – how could anyone choose?

Meanwhile, some brave attendees hopped over next door to get their ink on with Luis Gonzalez of Euphoria Tattoos. After picking from his specially-made flash sheet just for this event, several Skate & Skin fans got tatted-up AIGA style!

At the end of the night votes were tallied and everyone gathered around to congratulate three talented winners. Congratulations to 1st Place, Joe Cowdrey; 2nd Place, Matt Shanaghan; and 3rd Place, Nicholas Miner!
